Welcome to the Tower Theatre Archive and Information pages

We hold records for every production we have put on since we were founded in 1932. With only a few exceptions we have cast lists and photographs for the shows. Below are links to the indexes which list all the shows - you can find productions by their date, title, author or director.

The Tower Theatre's website has by far the best archives of any theatre I've come across in my research. (The J P Donleavy Compendium web site)

"Last weekend I found myself in another version of am-dram land with the Tower Theatre ... Everyone in the foyer, and in the audience, knew each other. They were part of a club, a community of common purpose and dedication. They were releasing their inner thespians in a parallel universe of theatre ... And the performance was superb."
Michael Coveney on the Tower Theatre, WhatsOnStage.com

The Tower Theatre Company has been entertaining audiences for more than 85 years. All our actors, directors and technical crew get involved for the sheer love of it. Last year, the company purchased a building in Stoke Newington and all the Company's activities are now based there. The only full-time, non-professional company in inner London, the Tower stages up to 18 productions a year at its own theatre. It also mounts regular tours further afield including an annual visit to an open-air theatre in Paris and every two years to the Minack Theatre in Cornwall.

The Tower produces shows that compete with the best of the professional London fringe. We stage productions from Beckett to Butterworth, Shakespeare to Sondheim. We seek to tackle new theatrical territory as well as to recreate stage classics, but most of all we aim to inspire audiences with our creativity, passion and collaboration.

The Tower Theatre's Artistic Policy : "We aim to provide the widest possible range of high quality, affordable drama, within the resources available, enabling people of all ages and backgrounds to experience every aspect of theatre as a participant or as an audience member."
